Just completed her this morning. Most of the backstitchings are not so difficult but there are some parts which caused quite a nightmare to me!
I managed to take a good picture of my previous finish again. This was stitched on a Silkweaver hand dyed but I couldn't get the colours out with my camera when I finished it. I placed this piece at a rather dark place and took a picture of it. I am quite happy with how the colours turned out.
This will be my next project - designed by Eva Rosenstand. This pattern is really weird. On the cover, the girl has the light on the left side but on the pattern, the light is actually on the right side.
She will be stitched on this SW hand dyed.

This is one of my 3 UFOs which I decided to continue with. I never thought I would get so carried away stitching the lower part. I hope I can have her done by middle of next month. I am already thinking what to stitch next, probably my Permin Christmas Town which had been put aside for a long time. I am just too lazy to start on something new as I hate to gather new floss and looking for fabrics for a new project. Talking about fabrics, I just acquired 10.5kg of fabrics in different counts, colours, linen, aida, hardanger and others. I've taken out approx. 2.5kg for myself and hope to sell the rest away. I would prefer to sell the rest (8kg) to the same person but won't mind separately them out (min. 1 kg each) and selling them to different people. So, if you need fabrics, feel free to contact me ;0)
Ordered this Dutch magazine a few days ago and it arrived yesterday. It was the Eva Rosenstand Girl with a Candlelight which made me buy this magazine. I have to say this magazine is a good buy as there are a lot of other beautiful patterns inside.
Time of the year whereby the flu bug is everywhere. Stay warm everyone.

Just bought these magazines from an old lady - 53 issues of 2009 Hendes Verden when I only need 12 issues of them. The seller is an extremely lovely and sweet 87 year old lady who has a very bad eyesight and legs. So, I told her to just sell me the whole year issue and I will search for what I want myself. After her sale with me, she said she will never do it again. Reason - The whole package was so heavy and she had to get someone to load it onto her walking frame and then unload it at the post office counter. Well, I actually need the whole of 2005 issues from her and some others. She had been a subscriber to this magazine for the last 67 years!
So, what do I do with the rest of the magazines? There are lot of lovely recipes in them and I have to find a day to go through them slowly.
All because of my obsession for these 12 birds. I bought 1 issue from the publisher as the pattern was missing from the issue which I bought from the seller. I think she took that page (at the back of the pattern) to enter into some contests.
My progress of Girl & A Rose. I had to frog her eyes out as I made a mistake. At least, now with her eyes stitched up, she doesn't look so scary anymore.

Finished the 3rd child this morning and 4 more to go.
Going to continue with her this week before I go back to my Children in Snow. I think I will stitch in her eyes this week as those empty eye sockets are starting to freak me out.
I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day yesterday. It was a horrible day for me as my cold got worse yesterday. So, all I did on Mother's Day/my birthday was sleeping. This is a birthday gift which I received from my in-laws and husband yesterday. This is what I had always wish for as I am sick and tired of using the mixer whenever I bake some cakes.
Looks kind of frightening as there are so many other accessories. Still it is very exciting and I can't wait to try them out.
I think the reason why my cold didn't get better was because we went to the circus on Saturday. It was very cold and almost felt like winter with the rain. My toes were totally frozen. Still, it was so worth it as our daughter enjoyed every minute while at the circus. It was a very typical children's circus with a lot of animals and clowns.
During the 10 mins break, we get to go to the back of the circus to look and stroke the animals. The horses are extremely friendly and love children a lot.

1 more child done and 5 more children to go. It will be put away for a few days while I continue with my Girl & A Rose SAL with Jackie.
My progress on Girl & A Rose. I am so tempted to stitch her eyes now but I know I will have nothing to look forward to once the eyes are done.
We are supposed to spend our holidays in Hamburg next week but due to the the Hafenfest that will be held there on the same week, we have to change our plans. All hotels are fully booked for this Hafenfest and prices are even doubled just for this event. I am quite disappointed but well, there's nothing we could do, except to travel there a couple of weeks after this event is over.

My hands couldn't stop shaking as I had been stitching quite a lot on her to catch up with Jackie. I could feel like I am working on a Dimensions kit again while working on her. Took me a while to get used to looking at the coloured symbols and 2 symbols sharing the same colour floss.
Another kit came in this morning. I think I must be colourblind as I was so sure that it showed blue on my screen but seems like it is not in real life. This is a kit called Blå Flora by the Danish Håndarbejdets Fremme and the designer is Ole Kortzau.
Snow in April! This picture was taken this morning. DD is bringing a friend home from the kindergarten today. Not exactly a nice weather for an ice-cream. She is really excited as she had been counting the days to bring this friend home. Whereas, I am a bit worried as she told me this boy can only speak German and not Danish. I am not good at German at all, so I guess DD has to play the translator if I can't communicate with this small friend of hers.

1 child done and 6 more to go. At least it is easier to stitch 6 children than making them ;0) I love the reds and really enjoyed stitching this girl. My main problem is the backstitching, as on the kit, it says use 1 strand for backstitching. However, when I look at the picture, it seems like 2 strands had been used. I did use 1 strand for her mouth but it didn't turn out good and changed to 2 strands. I will do the same for her eyes too.
My kit arrived this week. This is a SAL with Jackie who has already started hers as she received hers about 4 days before me. I am going to replace the fabric in the kit with a SW fabric. Luckily for my 'fabric supplier' who found 1 SW fabric that might goes with this project. I hope it will arrives by end of this week.
I received these 4 beautiful pictures taken by my dear friend Michiko. I've always love the Japanese cherry blossoms and it had always been my dream to travel to Japan to admire them in real life. These pictures are so well taken by Michiko and they are really beautiful. Thank you so much, Michiko. I am also very happy to know that Michiko is back to blogging after taking a short break.
We went to the funfair in Germany last weekend. DD was really excited. We played and ate a lot during our 5 hours there. Very soon, she will be going to a real funpark in Copenhagen - Tivoli. We really need a few days here and there for short holidays during this summer. We had been working constantly on the house every summer with no breaks. Another place where we've planned is the Hagenbeck in Hamburg.
Very empty funfair as we arrived 45 mins before it started, just to avoid the heavy traffic and not able to find a parking space.
We've had great weather for the whole of this week. I finished washing the last windows today. Took me 3 separate days to finish all the windows. That is the price to pay if you want a very bright house. We bought DD a bicycle, so that she can start learning how to cycle during this summer.
We are invited over to our friends' house for dinner tomorrow. I just came to know that we have to bring some extra clothings as we will be doing something outside before or after dinner! I hope not too much walking. DD is really looking forward to go to their house tomorrow as she gets to meet their twin girls who are her good friends.
I've just ordered 2 boxes of ice cream and they will be delivered this Saturday. DD had been asking her friends in the kindergarten to come over to our house for ice cream. Arrangements had been made with the parents and they will come by next week. I have to stock up as I'll never know which child will ring on our doorbell, saying they've been invited for an ice-cream :0))
