In my last post, I mentioned that the skin and hair colours were all wrong. I received such great customer service both by Borduurblad in Netherland and our own Permin/Eva Rosenstand here in Denmark. The lady from Borduurblad is extremely sweet and helpful. Within 24 hours, I received the correct numbers to replace the wrong ones. If any of you had bought the magazine, Borduurblad had uploaded the correct DMC numbers on their website.
We just celebrated our daughter's birthday in November. Here is the cake which I made for her party. It didn't turn out as I wanted as the icing wasn't thick enough to cover the whole cake. It was a Tinkerbell party we threw for her and even her costume was a Tinkerbell :0))
We have so much snow at this time of the year and for the past 10 years living in Denmark, I don't remember seeing snow just months before Christmas. Everyday is a pain for both my husband and me as we have to shovel the snow around the house.
2011 is approaching and there will be a lot of changes for us. Even the Danish Immigration is implementing new rules constantly. All these stupid rules are getting on our nerves and we decided to move to another country. No idea how long it will take us to get our house sold but we are already starting with the first step. I will definitely miss having the Danes around me and the Danish culture but with all these ridiculous laws keep coming, it is better to be out of the country than worrying constantly about our future here in Denmark. Wish us luck ;0)

I really should had stopped stitching when I was on her hair. I thought the colours were just not right as they all seemed to look so pale. The original photo has some dark beige/brown on her hair and face and also her hand. I sent an email to the German ONS where I bought the magazine from and the mail was forward to Bourduurblad in Netherland, who in turn forward the mail to back to Denmark - Permin/Eva Rosenstand. I could had written or call Permin/Eva Rosenstand directly but I thought since this pattern was published in the Dutch magazine, they have the right to know if there's any corrections to the colours. I love how the Dutch work - really great customer service. The lady from Bourduurblad was constantly sending emails to Permin/Eva Rosenstand asking for the right colours and I could see from her mails to them that she wants this problem to be settled fast. I hope to get the right colours from Permin/Eva Rosenstand soon to complete this project. Now, I just have to frog all the beiges out first.
For the last 2 days, I was already planning a project which I've always wanted to do for a long time. I've taken some of Katerina Koukiotis' works charted by HAED and put them together. I will only stitch a small area for those charts - 200x200 for each one.
A package arrived this morning. It is a special order I placed with Kagebutikken. I ordered 2 sets of these - 1 for our daughter's birthday party and the other one for her party in the kindergarten. Not what I expected as I wanted the base to be light green and some glitter on the flowers she is sitting on. Well, I am still satisfied with the results and the fondant smells really good. I planned a Tinkerbell party for her 6th birthday.
We had our first snow yesterday. It was snowing the whole day. It is going to be a really harsh winter this year according to the weather forecast.

Just completed her this morning. Most of the backstitchings are not so difficult but there are some parts which caused quite a nightmare to me!
I managed to take a good picture of my previous finish again. This was stitched on a Silkweaver hand dyed but I couldn't get the colours out with my camera when I finished it. I placed this piece at a rather dark place and took a picture of it. I am quite happy with how the colours turned out.
This will be my next project - designed by Eva Rosenstand. This pattern is really weird. On the cover, the girl has the light on the left side but on the pattern, the light is actually on the right side.
She will be stitched on this SW hand dyed.

This is one of my 3 UFOs which I decided to continue with. I never thought I would get so carried away stitching the lower part. I hope I can have her done by middle of next month. I am already thinking what to stitch next, probably my Permin Christmas Town which had been put aside for a long time. I am just too lazy to start on something new as I hate to gather new floss and looking for fabrics for a new project. Talking about fabrics, I just acquired 10.5kg of fabrics in different counts, colours, linen, aida, hardanger and others. I've taken out approx. 2.5kg for myself and hope to sell the rest away. I would prefer to sell the rest (8kg) to the same person but won't mind separately them out (min. 1 kg each) and selling them to different people. So, if you need fabrics, feel free to contact me ;0)
Ordered this Dutch magazine a few days ago and it arrived yesterday. It was the Eva Rosenstand Girl with a Candlelight which made me buy this magazine. I have to say this magazine is a good buy as there are a lot of other beautiful patterns inside.
Time of the year whereby the flu bug is everywhere. Stay warm everyone.
