It is finally done!  I love stitching on this piece as it is a nice feeling to see each child appearing.   This finish was stitched on a Silkweaver hand dyed but I simply couldn't get the colours on the fabric with my camera.

I have no idea which project should I start next.  I am thinking of continuing 2 UFOs.  My first choice is Girl With a Rose but it is really hard to stitch on the bottom part.

OR Permin Christmas in Town.   What puts me off about this piece is that I have to stitch all the whites in to make the snow.

I would really love to start on this ER but I think I should really complete 1 UFO before I start another a new project.

Fall is here and as usual, it is so windy, cold and wet.   I had a very bad infection in one of teeth recently.  It was a torture at the dentist.  I had my 2nd appointment yesterday and few days before the appointment, I felt so despressed and terrified.  Just the thought of getting tortured by the dentist is enough to make me pee in my pants.  Luckily, it wasn't so bad at all.  According to the dentist, the first time was really bad as I had an infection.  I still have 1 more treatment next month and that's it!

More Finishes

My ER Robin completed.  Took me about 11 days, stitched on 28 count cashel linen.  Is it that difficult to iron the wrinkles out on linen? I noticed that it is much easier on lugana and jobelan.

I completed one of the Hello Kitty sometime ago and put in the last few stitches for the 2nd one.  Stitched on 14 count plastic canvas.  I doubt I will stitch on plastic canvas for a while as I broke 4 needles just stitching these 2 and constant cramps in my hands.

It had been a while since I updated my blog. Things had been getting in our life during this period and I am so glad that it is over and our life is back to normal (at least until now). During this hard time, I am so glad that we got the help of family and friends. I have a special friend whom I want to thank for being there when I nearly lost hope. Thank you so much, Jackie for being there when I was so afraid and lost.

I haven't been stitching until few weeks ago. Here is what I've finished in less than 2 weeks. It is a very fast stitch and also my first real try on linen.

My current WIP which is another fast stitch as well but backstitching those twigs can drive me crazy. I had been on the search for this used chart for a long time. I managed get it but without any leftover floss or even floss numbers. Luckily for a very kind lady, she sent me samples of her floss as she has this used chart + leftover floss and I matched them up to DMC.

It had always been my dream to run an online shop selling crafts. I had an online shop which was set up in 2003 but it didn't go well (probably promoting to the wrong country). After some serious selling on Ebay, I decided to re-open this shop. My husband is an IT man but he is not good with webshops. We have a program called Magento and all we need is someone who knows about Magento to help me with. If you know anyone and will charge a reasonable fee for it, please let me know. I really need the shop running in October. Thank you so much in advance.

We were supposed to go to Tivoli in Copenhagen yesterday but changed our plans and went to Sommerland Syd instead. DH is one of the sponsors for a handball club and this club invited all the sponsors + their family members to a day in Sommerland Syd. Our good friends came along with their twin girls too as the father is also one of the sponsors.
Pictures here are some of the crazy rides which the girls took. It was a great weather and this giant monster is the main attraction there. No, the girls didn't take this ride as they are too young for this.

How many times did the 3 girls ride on this? 5 to 6 times? I lost count as this ride swings so fast that it made me so giddy even by looking at it :0))

The 3 good friends climbing the 'Mount Everest'.

I really feel like a coward sometimes. I didn't even dare to go onto this pirate ship as I have a fear for heights. So, the girls were up there, while I was looking after the bags!

Was sitting on the grass waiting for the 3 girls to finish this ride. It was a long queue for this ride and the 3 girls love to sit in 1 train together. After each ride ended, they queued up for their turns again. They took this ride 3 times as they all wanted to take turns to be the 'driver' in the same train.

DD sat with the twins' mum and 1 of the twins at the front row. The impact was really strong when it went right into the water. 3 of them hit their heads really hard onto the front bar. DD did cry but didn't take her long to recover and look for the next ride again.
This is the only ride she refused to go with at the last minute. She could see that it was a very dark tunnel and she doesn't like darkness.

A very sweet-looking train.

2 girls off to look for new adventures :0)

We had a warm week and DH and I decided to clean the 'family pool' at the beginning of the week. Our daughter had a great time swimming and playing in the pool every day when she came home from the kindergarten.
We will be getting rainy days starting from this evening for a whole week, I guess. So, this evening, we started to cover the pool and packed quite a lot of stuff in the garden and back into the shed and garage.
We had an old friend who came by and visit us this afternoon for coffee. We invited him for dinner too. When was the last time we saw him? 3.5 years ago? It was really nice to see him again and DH and him are already making plans to go to the movies together.

4th child done + some snow added. I really enjoy stitching on this piece.

I was wondering what's so big deal about this Håndarbejdets Fremme 1993. Each time, a copy is put out on Ebay for bidding, it will goes up to more than 100euro. I took a look at this book and there are only 3 patterns which I like - out of 12 of them! My favourite is the December, June and May calender birds.

I hope you had a great weekend. We had some friends over for coffee and grill on Saturday. It was really fun and DD played really well with their 9-year-old daughter. Yesterday, we took DD to the local indoor pool. I must admit that I am really getting old. I was at the children's pool for an hour, didn't do much swimming, except for playing with DD there and I took a 2-hour nap when we came home.
We are looking forward to next Saturday, even though we have to cancel our Copenhagen trip as we decided to head to Sommerland Syd with our friends and their twin girls. The last time we were there was like 3 years ago.
Have a great week ahead.

We went on a short vacation during this long weekend. This was actually a birthday gift from my husband. We were supposed to go to Hamburg 2 weeks ago but had to cancel as all hotels were fully booked.
Our first day was at Hafencity. We took the inner city train. Honestly, I've never seen a more completed train zone plan, other than in Hongkong. I have to say, I do miss the city life a lot. It had been a long time since I've seen a busy city, with lots of people and lots of different food.
We went to Miniatur Wunderland. When darken.
With lights.

A minatur open-air concert.
It took us a long time from Hafencity back to the main rail station. We stumbled upon a Spanish restaurant. The dishes remind me of Chinese Dim Sum - all in small portions. I have to say our 5 year old daughter is a real trooper. Not a word of complaint from her when we were finding our way in the city for hours. She got to eat all she wanted at the restaurant. Home made french fries, bread and ice cream. This restaurant really has such wonderful service. They said they will make any food for the children.
We went to Hagenbeck Tierpark (walking distance from our hotel) the next day. I just thought these orangutans are so lovable, especially this one who is often seen carrying his/hers blanket.
Our daughter's up close and personal encounter with the gentle giraffe.
Happiest girl on earth as long as she has her popcorn.
Aquarium which is just next to the zoo.
This python really facinated her so much that she stood there for a long time looking at it.
Of course, she needs to bring a 'pet' home after the zoo's trip. This parrot is her latest companion now.
I stumbled upon Starbucks Coffee when I really needed to find a washroom in a mall. I nearly had tears in my eyes. When was the last time I saw a Starbucks Coffee? 10 years ago? When I was still living in Singapore, there is almost a Starbucks Coffee at every corner. After our dinner at Jim Block, we headed to this Starbucks and had another feast - coffee and cakes.
As much I love the city life, still there are a lot of things happening in a big city. Saw this when we took the inner city train back. My husband said this boy was stabbed and died at this place. It is really sad as he was really young.

That was our vacation and I really enjoyed and made my husband promise me that we will definitely be back there next summer. I am really looking forward to the next vacation which will be in Copenhagen. We will be there when Pippi Longstocking is visiting Tivoli.

Just bought these magazines from an old lady - 53 issues of 2009 Hendes Verden when I only need 12 issues of them. The seller is an extremely lovely and sweet 87 year old lady who has a very bad eyesight and legs. So, I told her to just sell me the whole year issue and I will search for what I want myself. After her sale with me, she said she will never do it again. Reason - The whole package was so heavy and she had to get someone to load it onto her walking frame and then unload it at the post office counter. Well, I actually need the whole of 2005 issues from her and some others. She had been a subscriber to this magazine for the last 67 years!
So, what do I do with the rest of the magazines? There are lot of lovely recipes in them and I have to find a day to go through them slowly.
All because of my obsession for these 12 birds. I bought 1 issue from the publisher as the pattern was missing from the issue which I bought from the seller. I think she took that page (at the back of the pattern) to enter into some contests.

My progress of Girl & A Rose. I had to frog her eyes out as I made a mistake. At least, now with her eyes stitched up, she doesn't look so scary anymore.

I wish everyone a great long weekend. We are having a long weekend here in Denmark as we have Pinsedag.

Finished the 3rd child this morning and 4 more to go.

Going to continue with her this week before I go back to my Children in Snow. I think I will stitch in her eyes this week as those empty eye sockets are starting to freak me out.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day yesterday. It was a horrible day for me as my cold got worse yesterday. So, all I did on Mother's Day/my birthday was sleeping. This is a birthday gift which I received from my in-laws and husband yesterday. This is what I had always wish for as I am sick and tired of using the mixer whenever I bake some cakes.

Looks kind of frightening as there are so many other accessories. Still it is very exciting and I can't wait to try them out.

I think the reason why my cold didn't get better was because we went to the circus on Saturday. It was very cold and almost felt like winter with the rain. My toes were totally frozen. Still, it was so worth it as our daughter enjoyed every minute while at the circus. It was a very typical children's circus with a lot of animals and clowns.

During the 10 mins break, we get to go to the back of the circus to look and stroke the animals. The horses are extremely friendly and love children a lot.
