My SB as of 16 Jan. I am so glad that her eye took me like an hour to stitch. Unlike Angel of Spring which took me 4 hours. My intention was to stitch towards the left but I've changed my mind as I want her to have her right eye there as soon as possible. That means I have to stitch downwards. I wanted to replace kreinik #4 with HDF B5200 at first as suggested by one of the moderators on HAED Forum but I decided to use Petite Treasure Braid PB10 instead. HDF B5200 looks too white on her face and PTB looks better and also not that difficult to handle compared to Kreinik. It is really horrible to stitch those sparkling PTB with HDF 5201 as they are white and I always get lost while stitching. A lot of concentrations needed for her forehead.
Who just made my day? None other than Katerina Koukiotis herself!!! The talented artist behind all these beautiful artworks!! She left 2 comments on my blog. My heart was pumping so fast with excitement when I saw the comments. It was the same feeling when HAED charted 2 of her beautiful artworks I requested - Sleeping Beauty and Angel of Spring. It really feels good to have someone as famous as her to leave a comment on my stitching. I was grinning so much while reading the comments over and over again. I always picture her as someone who is always smiling, positive, very humble, extremely appreciative and full of energy. Thank you so much Katerina :0)))))
Thank you very much, Marie for the comment on my Sleeping Beauty. I am really happy to find another one who loves Katerina's artworks. I will definitely stitch Remembrance one day as I've already kitted her up with HDF silk floss. I am still on the search for a nice hand dyed fabric for her as the last fabric was accidentally ripped off by my own hands. Angel of Spring will be picked up again after Sleeping Beauty is done and I am giving myself latest by June to complete SB, unless something unexpected turns up.

As I mentioned in one of my posts that I am meeting up with Tove whom I know through 123stitch forum. She came with her parents and her kids on Monday. All of them are the sweetest people I've ever known. Very humble and friendly. Her 2 kids are really well behaved, especially her daugher whom I just want to hug all the time. It took DD a while to warm up to the 2 friends she just met. I wish she had taken a longer to warm up as she made them formed band and started to play music. It was ear-deafening but we were all laughing and enjoying the 3 kids' performance. I am looking forward to see them again but I have no idea when they will be back from Japan for holidays. Have a nice trip back to Japan.

A friend of mine had been calling me non stop and I really hate to take her calls as she never filter her words when she is talking. She just go blah blah blah and jadda jadda. It goes on my nerves when people talk senseless things. Even though DD is a half Chinese and half European, that doesn't give her the right to tease my daughter and calling her Jackie Chan's daughter. Even her son is calling her that. These are the people whom I don't even want to have a thing to do with.

Great Buy!

While doing our weekly grocery shopping 2 days ago in Germany, we found this. In fact we saw this before Christmas and 2 days before Christmas, it was put down to €49. DD loves this so much and each time we are there, she will hang around for a while to admire this Barbie Party Cruise. I didn't buy it for her as I would prefer to get the Wii Mario Kart which cost the same price too. We saw this 2 days ago and they were reduced to €25! This time I asked her whether she really wants it and she said yes. She is so happy with this and throughout the whole 2.5 hour of shopping, she was looking this Barbie constantly. I've never seen her having a liking to certain things so much, except for colouring stuff. We are glad that we bought this for her as she simply couldn't stop playing with it since she came home with it.

I am really getting excited to see one of her eyes now. I hope I can get to her mouth very soon but I am stitching towards to the left side to complete the whole page before moving further to the left.

Took this picture this morning. It is not one of the best views I've seen from our balcony but what I like is the clouds on the uppertop. Click onto the picture you will know what I mean. If you don't, too bad as I just can't explain.

I received a missed call on my mobile today. It was from Tove whom I know on the 123stitch MB. She did write to me last week and asked whether we can meet up. I had been so excited since then. It was awkward to speak to her at first. I guess I just feel weird speaking English to a Dane. We ended up speaking in English in the end. Tove had stayed in USA for years and moved to Japan. She is back in Denmark for the festive season and we arranged to meet on Monday. Best day for me as my fridge is always stored up with lots of food from Friday onwards. I will put DD at home on Monday as Tove will bring her 2 kids along and they can play together. I am really looking forward to see her next Monday. Hope she can find her way to our house. If she can't, then I will put DH on the phone and let him explain. I am so bad at giving directions!! Did that few times when my friends called for directions to our house and I misdirected them. Not very nice language they use when they finally reach our house after DH gave them better and specific directions to our house.

Actually I don't think I am bad at giving directions. The thing is that there are only farms, trees, highways, roads, plants here. Where I came from, we give directions by telling people 'when you turn right, you can see a Mcdonalds or a hotel or this shopping mall, etc' If I have to give directions to the people here, it might go like 'turn right and you will see these black and white cows or pigs or a tree which is like 2m 34.5cm tall.'

Another update again. At times I really feel that my blog is a bit boring with just update on this project. I am not a mult-projects person and always stick to one. However, this one will soon be put aside for a while when my Permin Christmas SAL starts.

I love to stitch this Sleeping Beauty. A real pleasure to stitch as there's huge blocks of colours, though her forehead and ears have a lot of confetti stitches. Jackie's mum finished her HAED Katerina Koukiotis Remembrance and have it hanging on Katerina's official site. It is so lovely and sweet. I really wish I can start on this one too. Too bad, the SW solo which was meant for this project has 2 threads cut off from the fabric while frogging. When Jackie sent me the picture of the framed Remembrance, it immediately set my turbo engine on and I threw everything aside and stitched on Sleeping Beauty continuously for almost 3 hours yesterday.

Another update on my Sleeping Beauty. I think she is turning out great, though I am not that happy with the floss coverage on the fabric. I am tenting on this WIP with HDF silks on 28 count Lavender Sunset jobelan. I got to say, after tent stitching for a while, no way am I going back to do full crosses.

Took this lovely scene this morning. Actually after moving here for a year, we still don't have any idea whether that part is Germany or still Denmark. However, if you look further up, the high mountains, that area is definitely Germany. I just love this view this morning as it looks like a water fountain but it is actually fog.

Sunset

This photo was taken at sunset today. It was my mother in law who told me to look at the beautiful sunset. I am not sure what colours you can see on your screen but in real life, it was RED and orange. It was really beautiful. Mother in law loves our house as we can see sunrise from our balcony and sunset at our terrace. The sunrise is as equally lovely as the sunset too. So often, when I see the lovely sunrise during the wee hours in the morning, I always think 'how nice would it be if someone can dye such colours onto a fabric'

Just received this from my in-laws when they came over for coffee today. I won this used chart on ebay.de just before New Year. Still deciding whether to stitch this on Silkweaver Days Gone By or Silkweaver Summer Sunset. I've stitched something on Days Gone By before and also have another piece of this fabric (non opal) in my stash. So, I thought it might be a bit boring to stitch on the same hand dyed fabric which I've worked on before. My choice is only Summer Sunset now unless I find a solo which fits to this chart.
